Responsible Land Use
Limited and more thoughtful development.
We were not the first ones here. They were here before us. Perhaps we cannot know how many thousands of years. We see all around us the things they left behind. Their way of life had been shattered and it was never going to be the same.
Wildfires. Pollution. Population explosions. Loss of wildlife, flora and fauna. Our way of life has not been around for very long at all. We are mayflies by comparison. The instability of what has been established haunts us all whether we are conscious of it or not.
We are here now. We have the power of choice. This land and all of its resources are precious and beautiful and sacred. We are stewards, perhaps by luck, perhaps by crazy chance, but we feel the weight of this responsibility on our shoulders. We want to preserve what we have received
Honoring What the Land Provides
Learning from their way of resourcefulness.
Harvests from the fruits, nuts, berries, and fiber. Learning from the tried and true ways of life that kept the balance of nature as the seasons turned and the ages shifted.
What can we share with each other? How can we better come together with our gifts and offerings? Can we find the way to community that regenerates and nourishes and thrives?
Let us learn from wisdom that has stood the test of time. Let us find our humility and respect that which is resilient and
What Makes Community?
The spirit of art and the fire of storytelling.
We all have our unique experiences and perspectives. No one before has been quite like you. What do you have to offer that has your own imprint of individuality?
In the ancient tradition of the Potlatch, people would come together and bring what they had to offer. Different people had different skills, interests, affinities. Because of the diversity of ways of being, the feast was rich and varied, plentiful and satisfying to all. When we come together with love and a willingness to share, we are so much more than the sum of our parts.
It is human to create art. It is human to tell stories. We dance, we sing, we drum. We come together and have a shared experience and almost we begin to feel what it is to be in the shoes of another. Can we see that all on this earth are part of one great whole? What will you bring to community?
Over the Next Horizon
The wider world.
All over the world people are feeling the dissatisfaction with the way technology has altered the human experience. We evolved to have face to face interactions. We evolved to live in close contact with one another. There is a better way, and so many out there are agitating to find it.
We are here in our little corner of the world. We can build a kernel of community where we are. Others are doing the same in their corners of the world. As these communities build momentum and become more vibrant and influential, they interweave with one another. You may enjoy participating in this group and have people you know that might enjoy it as well. The more the merrier!
Bring your friends and loved ones who you think would resonate with what we are creating. Share with us what they are creating also, so we can also be enriched and participate in what they are creating. Can we weave together and knit this world into one great whole?
